Are you interested in perfecting your smile and improving your self-esteem? At Cedars Family Dental, our dentists have the experience and training to give you the smile of your dreams.

What is Cosmetic Dentistry?

Cosmetic dentistry is a specialty where dentists perform procedures to improve a person’s smile and confidence. Though many people are interested in the aesthetic benefit of these procedures, cosmetic dentistry procedures can also help to reduce and prevent oral health problems.

Teeth whitening, aligners, and veneers are some of the most common types of cosmetic procedures that dentists perform today.

SureSmile Clear Dental Aligners

Dental aligners can be an excellent alternative to traditional braces for many people. Cedars Family Dental offers custom-made SureSmile clear aligners to help straighten crooked teeth, reposition teeth, and help you have a more even bite.

SureSmile aligners are made of strong, clear, flexible plastic. SureSmile aligners are fitted to mold specifically to your teeth to help move them into the correct placement over time.

Most people need to wear aligners for a year or longer before the treatment is complete. The length of treatment differs for everyone.

The new dental aligner technology allows for a fit that is a very close match to your teeth, making it comfortable and effective for you. The SureSmile aligners work by slowly moving your teeth to create a straighter smile.

Your dentist will create a set of slightly different-sized aligners. You will wear these aligners in a specific sequence.

You will typically swap them out every two weeks. With each new set of aligners, you will likely feel a bit of pressure as they push your teeth into alignment.

Your dentist will instruct you to wear your aligners for up to twenty-two hours a day, including while you’re asleep.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a treatment done to improve teeth staining and discoloration and improve the brightness of your smile. Many people receive teeth whitening treatments to boost their confidence and remove the discoloration that has developed naturally as they age.

Professional teeth whitening offers the most dramatic and long-lasting results, and professional guidance with teeth whitening provides the safest and most comfortable experience.

KoR Teeth Whitening System

The KoR whitening system is one of the most advanced and effective whitening systems available. The high potency bleaching gels in the KoR whitening system are kept refrigerated to ensure maximum freshness and potency.

KoR whitening gels are specially formulated to remove large stain molecules. The trays are designed to fit snugly onto the teeth, reducing the amount of saliva that interferes with the whitening process.

The KoR system includes a whitening and desensitizing gel and a deep bleaching system. The first step in the KoR whitening process involves making molds of your teeth so the trays will fit perfectly in your mouth.

The KoR whitening treatment is nightly at home for two weeks. The KoR technology works while you sleep, so there is no interference with your daily activities.

After two weeks, you will return to your dentist’s office for another whitening treatment. The KoR teeth whitening system is an advanced and effective system that will give you your whitest smile yet!

Opalescence Go Trays

Another option that we offer at Cedars Family Dental for teeth-whitening is Opalescence Go trays. Opalescence Go trays are prefilled trays that you take home.

The convenient, prefilled UltraFit tray conforms to any smile and is ready to use right out of the box. It does not require any impressions or molds.

You can expect results to last for several months. Opalescence’s unique whitening formula incorporates potassium nitrate and fluoride to help the gel treatment stay on your teeth.

The formula is made to reduce sensitivity while strengthening enamel and protecting teeth from cavities. You can also wear these trays over braces, and your dentist might even suggest that you wear them before your braces come off.

Opalescence Go trays might be an excellent choice for you if you are new to whitening.

Veneers

Veneers can give you a bright, even smile. Broken, discolored, or misshapen teeth can be covered and protected with veneers.

Since they permanently bond to existing teeth, veneers are partial replacements for your teeth to improve the cosmetic appearance of your smile. Dentists often recommend veneers for people who have one or several damaged or broken teeth at the front of the mouth.

Veneers are made from a porcelain or resin composite. They mold to your teeth to look just like your natural teeth, even down to the correct shade of white.

Traditional dental veneers require multiple visits to your dentist. First, molds are custom-made for your mouth.

After this, they are bonded to your teeth during a second visit to your dentist’s office. After the veneers are in place, you must take good care of your veneers with regular brushing and flossing to maintain your new smile.

Although veneers sometimes require rebonding, they are otherwise a simple and attractive option for damaged teeth. There are several options available today for cosmetic dentistry for broken or damaged teeth.
